Helen P. Lucy (nee Kapalko), 84, of Vermilion, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice after a lengthy illness.

Helen was born December 27, 1932 in Hibbs, PA and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 58 years.
She worked as a private caregiver for many families in Vermilion, and was a member of the Vermilion E&R Church. She loved family, friends, reading her bible, and living at Beulah Beach. Her giving heart and spirit will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Fendall O'Keefe) Tansey and Cyndy (Ronald) Nicolson of Avon Lake, and Lori (Robert, dec.) Mey of Vermilion; son, Kenneth Harrison, Jr. of Huron; two stepsons, Ed Lucy and Wayne Lucy of FL; sister, Anne Malcolm of Garfield Heights; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lucy; parents, Steve and Susana (nee Rolince) Kapalko; and brothers, Joe Kapalko and Steve Kapalko; step daughter, Priscilla Marklow; and grandson, Michael S. Tansey.

The family will receive friends for a memorial service on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church, 752 Grand Street, Vermilion, OH. Pastor Nick Cacciatore will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UCC Food Pantry, 990 State Street, P.O. Box 228, Vermilion, OH 44089.
